IEMCC CONSTITUTION

Construction and Objects

1) The club shall be known as "The Imperial Elephant M.C.C."

2)
It's aims shall be the promotion of motorcycling and the staging of social and sporting events for it's members.

3) To this end it shall be affiliated to the British Motorcyclists Federation

Membership and Membership Fees

1) Proposals for new memberships must be made to the Chairman, by an existing club member. The proposal must be seconded. All paid up members must be informed of the proposal and given the opportunity to vote. 80% of all paid up members must vote in agreement with the proposal for a new member to be accepted. The new member must then complete and sign a membership form and pay the necessary fee.

2) Membership can also be accepted at the AGM by 80% of those present, providing the proposal has been made in the manner described above.

3) Subsidies on holidays (where available) may not be received by new members on any holiday booked within their first year of membership.

4) The club has the right to accept or refuse membership without stating any reasons.

5) The membership fee shall be £10 per person, per annum

The membership fee shall be reviewed annually, In January, at the AGM.

7)
The membership fee shall be renewed annually.
 
8) Only fully paid up members shall be entitled to:­
a) all benefits of membership
b) a BMF affiliation card and Club badge and
c) a vote at the Annual General Meeting.

9) a) All members will be supplied with a copy of the constitution when joining.
    b) If the constitution is reviewed, all members shall again receive a copy.

Club Officers

 1) All offices in the club shall be held for one year, after which time officers shall either star to be re-elected or stand down in favour of a newly elected person.

2) The club offices shall be Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.

3) Persons shall be elected to cover specific jobs or events on a temporary basis, or as such positions occur.

4) Persons wishing to hold posts in the club must be fully paid up members.

5) Persons wishing to hold posts in the club must have been fully paid up members for a minimum of two years.

Meetings

1) An Annual General Meeting will be held each January to re-elect officers of the dub and
review membership fees.

2) At all meetings, three Club members shall form a quorum.

3) At least one of the club officers shall be present at Club meetings.

4) Decisions at General Meetings such as changes to the constitution shall be passed by a majority vote of 55% of all club members present.

5) Events held in the name of the Club, must be held with the full knowledge and consent of the Club Officers.

General

1) No alteration of, or addition to these rules shall be made except at a General Meeting of the Club.

2) Members hold themselves honour bound to abide by the rules of the Club as in force at the time and in all cases of dispute or disagreement to accept the decision of the Club as final and binding.

3) The club shall have the power, after due enquiry, to suspend or expel from membership of the club, any member who has committed a breach of these rules, or whose conduct in any respect makes it desirable in the Interests of the Club that such action be taken. Any resolution to this effect shall require confirmation by the club at a subsequent meeting called for this purpose.


4) Non members Invited to club events may be liable to pay a surcharge, which will be at the discretion of the organiser and Treasurer.

5)At functions organised by other clubs, all Club members shall abide by the host Clubs rules.

6) In the event of the Imperial Elephant M.C.C. ceasing to exist as a Club (ie being unable to form a committee of at least three members) all club monies, after any debts have been repaid, and all club property, shall be donated to the British Motorcyclists Federation, or its successor.
